Abstract:This article explores the significant role that social media plays in shaping modern identity. As digital platforms become increasingly pervasive, they influence how individuals perceive themselves and interact with others. This study examines the multifaceted relationship between social media and identity formation, highlighting themes such as self-presentation, community building, and the impact of online interactions on mental health. By analyzing existing literature and empirical studies, this article argues that while social media offers opportunities for self-expression and connection, it also poses challenges that can complicate individuals' understanding of their identities.
