Abstract:With the rapid advancement of globalization, language learning now extends beyond mastering linguistic structures and vocabulary to include cultural understanding and the development of intercultural communication competence. This paper explores the importance of cultural awareness in second language acquisition (SLA) and analyzes how intercultural communication competence impacts language learning outcomes. Through a review of literature and case studies, this paper argues that fostering cultural awareness not only enhances learners' mastery of the target language but also improves their ability to engage in effective intercultural communication, which is crucial in a diverse, globalized environment.
